We’re just a small crew, an independent crazy hearted bunch, out there in the great expanse of sound and soul, chasing something real, something that cuts through the static. Music from Crazy Hearts isn’t just an album for me—it’s the pulse of survival, a heartbeat pounding in the dead silence. Written in under 10 days in the early hours of the morning. We laid it down live at RCA in five days, stripped bare, no filters, no masks. Every note, every word was a hand reaching out of the void, clawing its way back to the light. I wrote these songs like they were my last words, trying to reclaim what was burned away, singed in that baptism of fire—moving countries in the middle of a pandemic, starting over while the world was shutting down.
I wanted Crazy Hearts to cut through the madness, to send a signal through the noise. But every time I tried to take the easy way, every time I compromised, it just slipped away, vanished like smoke. They said, “Write about trucks and beer, hack the code, play the game.” But I couldn’t. That’s not the way. Success without the soul is just another kind of death. I didn’t want to be another product on the assembly line. These lessons—they cut deep, they stay with you. This record, Music from Crazy Hearts, is my soul laid bare, starting from scratch, no shortcuts, no compromises. Just the raw, unfiltered truth. Thank you to you for listening and sharing my music, you make all this possible.
